He was, according to The New York Times, “a beefy juvenile” when he first arrived on Broadway to star in Aspects of Love. Now 60, Michael Ball is nobody’s idea of a juvenile, much though his healthy head of undyed brown hair belies his age. Much though in the flesh, just as on his Sunday morning Radio 2 show, he emits a disarmingly uptempo sense of engagement.
