Shakespeare’s Globe has announced casting of Burnt at the Stake, or the Whole of the Truth, a celebration of bold new writing which takes place at the Globe Theatre on 13 October.
The cast of Burnt at the Stake comprises Annette Badland (Ted Lasso, The Naked Civil Servant), Jessie Bedrossian (I Am Karyan Ophidian Shakespeare’s Globe), Sam Buttery (8 out of 10 Cats), Vera Chok (Chewing Gum), Nadine Higgin (Doctors), Mariah Gale (I May Destroy You, Broadchurch), Mariah Louca (EastEnders), Mary Malone (Hope Has a Happy Meal Royal Court), Robert Mountford (London Burning), Samuel Oatley (Strike), Shubham Saraf (Shantaram) and Delilah Tahiri (Animal Pie).
Co-curated by Hannah Khalil and Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, and co-directed by Naeem Hayat and Indiana Lown-Collins, this event will feature the premiere of anonymous works by 13 writers.
The list of writers for the project includes Amy Trigg, Chinonyerem Odimba, Chloë Moss, Gilbert Kyem Jnr, Jasmine Naziha Jones, Lucy Sheen, Matilda Feyiṣayọ Ibini, Philip Ishak Arditti, Ric Renton, Tabby Lamb, Tanika Gupta, and Timberlake Wertenbaker.
Shakespeare’s Globe current season includes: As You Like It (to 29 Oct), Macbeth (to 28 Oct), Hansel and Gretel (8 Dec – 7 Jan )
