Movie and stage director Steven Antin has confirmed that his movie BURLESQUE is getting a stage adaptation, with Christina Aguilera set to Executive Produce.
Burlesque: The Musical will make its world premiere debut in London’s West End, although timing is sketchy for the show, with no firm dates or venue announced.
The musical is written by the movie’s director Steven Antin, and features songs from the film written by Aguilera, Academy Award-nominee Diane Warren and pop star Sia, including ‘Bound To You’ and ‘You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me’, plus some new songs from Todrick Hall and Jess Folley.
The 2010 movie, which has become a camp classic, starred Aguilera alongside Cher, Stanley Tucci, Alan Cumming, Eric Dane, Dianna Agron and Kristen Bell, and was nominated for 3 Golden Globe Awards.
The movie is set in a burlesque club in LA, and is about an ambitious small-town girl with a big voice who finds love, family and success.
