ABOUT KELSEY GRAMMER

Kelsey Grammer is an award winning actor, producer and director who has excelled at the highest level in theatre, television and film in a career spanning forty years.

An initial role as Dr Frasier Crane on “Cheers” developed into the cornerstone of the Juilliard-trained actor’s career with Grammer playing the celebrated character in three different television series (“Cheers,” “Wings” and “Frasier”) over a span of 20 years.

Kelsey Grammer has won six Emmys, three Golden Globes and a SAG Award and has received an unparalleled 18 Emmy nominations, eight Golden Globe nominations, 16 SAG nominations and one Tony nomination.

WHAT ROLE DOES KELSEY GRAMMER PLAY?

Kelsey will make his West End debut playing Miguel de Cervantes and Don Quixote in the acclaimed musical Man of La Mancha at the London Coliseum.

KELSEY GRAMMER’S PREVIOUS THEATRE ROLES

Kelsey Grammer was most recently seen at the Hollywood Bowl in Beauty and the Beast voicing Lumière alongside an all-star cast in a two night limited run of a live performance of Alan Menken’s music that accompanied a screening of the classic, animated Disney film.

Following his Broadway stage debut in a 1981 production of Macbeth, Grammer’s Broadway credits include playing Michael Cassio in a revival of Othello, with James Earl Jones and Christopher Plummer; the title role in Macbeth (2000); his Tony nominated performance in La Cage aux Folles (2010) and Finding Neverland (2015 & 2016).

Kelsey Grammer made his London stage debut in a revised version of the Broadway musical “Big Fish” in 2017 at the Other Palace Theatre.

KELSEY GRAMMER’S FILM AND TV ROLES

Grammer’s numerous film roles include Transformers: Age of Extinction; X-Men: Days of Future Past; X-Men: The Last Stand; The Expendables 3; Guardians of the Tomb; Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising; Baby, Baby, Baby; and Like Father.

His television roles include The Last Tycoon; Killing Jesus; Partners and Boss. An accomplished voiceover actor, Grammer’s projects include Netflix’ animated series Trollhunters; Sideshow Bob on The Simpsons; Warner Bros.’ animated film Storks, Toy Story 2, Anastasia and Teacher’s Pet.

WHAT IS MAN OF LA MANCHA ABOUT?

Inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ seventeenth-century masterwork Don Quixote and set during the Spanish Inquisition, Man of La Mancha follows Don Quixote as he chases his impossible dream, to pursue the beautiful princess Dulcinea – and a few windmills.

Determined to uphold all that is good and right at a time when the odds are stacked against him, Quixote’s courage is abounding, and we are all compelled to follow his unreachable star.
