Amber Riley stars in Dreamgirls at the Savoy Theatre
Amber Riley is best known for playing powerhouse sole diva Mercedes Jones in Ryan Murphy’s teen musical drama Glee. For her performance she won a Screen Actors Guild award and was nominated for three Teen Choice Awards.
Her theatre credits include Hair at the Hollywood Bowl, Alice in Wonderland, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Into the Woods and Mystery on the Docks with the Los Angeles Opera and Duke Ellington’s Cotton Club Parade in New York City Center’s.
Amber’s most recent television appearances include Guest judge on the BBC Talent show Let It Shine, playing ‘Addaperle, the Good Witch of the North’ in the NBC live performance of the musical, The Wiz and competing in Dancing with the Stars, which she won in 2013.
Amber will play the role of Effie White – portrayed in the hit film by Jennifer Hudson.
