Further casting has been announced for the forthcoming UK and Ireland tour of Annie.

Already announced is Strictly Come Dancing contestant and superstar drag queen La Voix, who will play Miss Hannigan in London Wimbledon, Birmingham, Manchester, Plymouth and Canterbury.

Then stage and screen star Claire Sweeney (Coronation Street, Brookside, Chicago) will take over as Miss Hannigan for the remaining tour dates from 7 July 2026.

The show will also star Alex Bourne (The Wizard of Oz) as Oliver Warbucks, with Tanisha-Mae Brown (Singin’ in the Rain) as Grace Farrell, Christian Cooper (The Sound of Music) as Rooster, and Amber Kennedy (Sister Act The Musical) as Lily St. Regis.

The company will also feature Jack Buchanan, Harrison Burley, Zoë Canham, Sophie Elmes, Belle Kizzy Green, Issy Khogali, Yujin Park, Elliot David Parkes, Carl Sanderson, Michaela Stern, Matthew Sweet and Jessica Wright.

The Annie tour is a revival of the Curve Leicester’s successful production, directed by Nikolai Foster (Kinky Boots, The Silence of the Lambs), and starts at London’s New Wimbledon Theatre on 23 May 2026.

  • Annie has music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin and a book by Thomas Meehan, and features a number of much-loved songs including It’s the Hard Knock Life, Easy Street, I Don’t Need Anything But You, and Tomorrow.
  • Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, brave young Annie is forced to live a life of misery at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage before her luck changes.
