Casting has been announced for The Woman In Black: Angels Of Death – the sequel to the 2012 movie starring Daniel Radcliffe.
Hammer Films are producing a sequel to their 2012 box office smash-hit The Woman in Black, to be directed by Tom Harper.
War Horse star Jeremy Irvine will feature in the movie, The Woman In Black: Angel of Death, which shoots in the Autumn for a late 2013 or early 2014 release.
He will be joined by rising young theatre star Phoebe Fox (Black Mirror) and acclaimed actress Helen McCrory (Skyfall, Hugo, Harry Potter) in the sequel, which sees the story continue four decades after the first movie.
In the film, isolated old house Eel Marsh House has been seized by the British government during World War II. When a group of evacuated children arrive at the house they awaken its ghostly inhabitant.
The children are evacuated with Eve (Phoebe Fox), their young and beautiful schoolteacher. But one by one the children begin acting strangely and Eve, with the help of local military commander Harry (Jeremy Irvine), discovers that the group has awoken a dark force even more terrifying and evil than London’s wartime air raids. Eve must now confront her own demons to save the children and survive the Woman in Black.
The movie is written by Jon Croker (Desert Dancer) based on an original story by Susan Hill (The Woman In Black).
Daniel Radcliffe starred as Arthur Kipps in the first movie, and is currently appearing in The Cripple of Inishmaan at the Noel Coward Theatre as part of Michael Grandage’s season of plays at the theatre.
The Woman in Black continues to run at the Fortune Theatre in London’s West End, where it celebrated its 25th birthday this month.
