Prince’s extraordinary movie and album Purple Rain are set for a major new stage adaptation.
Winner of an Oscar for Best Original Score, Purple Rain is the acclaimed movie and album featuring music and lyrics by multi Grammy Award-winning artist Prince.
Now a major new Broadway musical is coming to the stage, with Purple Rain featuring a book by two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (Appropriate, The Comeuppance), based on the movie screenplay Albert Magnoli and William Blinn, and directed by Tony Award-nominee Lileana Blain-Cruz (White Girl in Danger, The Skin of our Teeth).
