Sherlock Holmes to investigate Duchess

Following the departure of Broadway musical The Fantasticks at the Duchess Theatre, which closes this Saturday 26 June, a touring production of The Secret of Sherlock Holmes will run at the venue. Starring Peter Egan as Sherlock Holmes and Robert Daws as Watson, the play is directed by Robin Herford, who directed The Woman in Black at the Fortune Theatre.

Tonys tension as Broadway bitches back

It’s interesting to read that there has been much grumbling from some sections of Broadway about the invasion of Hollywood at this year’s Tony Awards (Variety: 18 June). Even a Facebook group called “Give the Tonys Back to Broadway” has been formed by Broadway actor Hunter Foster, and now has over 7,000 members.
