The Cornley Amateur Drama Society is back for another catastrophic Christmas, as it takes Christmas Carol Goes Wrong on tour across the UK and on to LA! Mischief has confirmed that most of the original UK cast will return for Christmas Carol Goes Wrong’s runs in Manchester, Portsmouth before heading for its North American premiere in Los Angeles.
The multi-award winning company behind The Play That Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong and The Comedy About Spies, has confirmed that much of the original UK cast of Christmas Carol Goes Wrong will reunite for select dates on the tour before heading to Los Angeles for a festive North American premiere.
The cast, alongside co-writer Henry Shields and Allie Dart, will perform in the festive disaster play at Manchester Opera House and Portsmouth’s Kings Theatre in November, after which they will head stateside for the remainder of the festive season.

The Manchester and Portsmouth performances are part of the show’s second UK tour which begins in Bromley from 27 October. Much of the original cast will return exclusively for these two runs before heading to the US for the Los Angeles dates.
The cast is led by:

- Henry Lewis as Robert
- Chris Leask as Trevor
- Jonathan Sayer as Dennis
- Henry Shields as Chris
- Greg Tannahill as Jonathan
The ensemble also includes Matthew Biddulph, Siobhan Cha Cha, Orla O’Sullivan and Josh Patel-Foster.
The cast for the remaining tour dates as well as the upcoming West End run have not yet been announced, but the news is expected soon.
Christmas across the Atlantic
Mischief returns to the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles this festive season, where Christmas Carol Goes Wrong will mark its North American premiere. They return to the venue where Peter Pan Goes Wrong shocked US audiences in 2023.
Alongside a run in Australia that includes runs at HOTA and Sydney Opera House, this will be the first time the show has been performed outside the UK.
Christmas Carol Goes Wrong sees the Cornley Amateur Drama Society attempt to tackle Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol. Much like their turn in The Play That Goes Wrong, the attempt is thwarted by battling miscommunication, set delays, missing actors and a growing feud over who gets to play the lead.
The disastrous take on the beloved festive story premiered to sell-out houses at the Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue last year and will again return to the West End this holiday season.
