The Almeida Theatre in London has announced the full cast for its revival of Sarah Kane’s Cleansed.
Cleansed will run at the Almeida from 22 July to 29 August 2026.
The cast features Leo Bill (Women, Beware the Devil), Pearl Chanda (Broken Glass), Luke Cinque-White (Ballet Shoes), Lizzy Connolly (Porn Play), Jack Riddiford (Stereophonic), Parth Thakerar (The Importance of Being Earnest), and Stuart Thompson (Spring Awakening).
The production is directed by Olivier Award-winner Rebecca Frecknall (Cabaret, A Streetcar Named Desire).
Considered a modern classic, the play by the late Sarah Kane (Blasted, 4.48 Psychosis) explores the brutality of desire, and asks what happens to love when there’s nothing else worth living for?
Also announced today is 1000 (Millennia), the final play in a trilogy exploring what it means to live, work, love, pray, celebrate and mourn in Islington. Written by Stephanie Bain and presented in partnership with All Change, Arsenal in the Community and Cardboard Citizens, 1000 (Millennia) runs at the Almeida from 9 to 11 July 2026.
Currently playing at the Almeida Theatre is A Doll’s House (until 23 May) starring Romola Garai.
