The free musical theatre festival to return this June

The date has been announced for free musical theatre weekend West End LIVE.

The free event brings tens of thousands of theatre fans together for Europe’s largest free musical theatre festival.

This year’s West End LIVE will return to Trafalgar Square in London, on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June 2026.

Hailed as the “Glastonbury for theatre lovers”, the much-loved annual event will once again transform the West End for a weekend of live performances from more than 50 top London musicals. The full line-up of shows will be announced in the coming months.

Presented by Westminster City Council and the Society of London Theatre, with support from the Mayor of London, West End LIVE celebrates the very best of London’s theatre scene.

This year, West End LIVE is introducing a new competition for fans. For the first time in the event’s history, 100 queue jump places per day will be available through an online prize draw. Winners will gain access via a separate entrance, while one lucky entrant will also receive a backstage experience, a £50 merchandise voucher and £200 in Theatre Tokens.

West End LIVE is also continuing its commitment to environmental responsibility, pioneering a large-scale battery-powered production model in Trafalgar Square to reduce carbon emissions.

West End LIVE 2025

Last year’s West End LIVE in Trafalgar Square saw a host of shows participate, including Burlesque The Musical, Disney’s Hercules, The Great Gatsby, Evita, The Producers, Cabaret, Hamilton, Les Misérables, and more.
