ZooNation Records has released the first single from the Olivier-nominated musical Sylvia, with ‘March Women March’ available now on all major streaming platforms ahead of International Women’s Day this Sunday 8 March.
Produced by award-winning Martin Terefe, the track features lead vocals by Beverley Knight, who reprises her Olivier Award-winning role as Emmeline Pankhurst in the production’s upcoming Royal Albert Hall run and UK tour.
The single’s music is by Josh Cohen and DJ Walde, with lyrics by Sylvia creator Kate Prince.

Described as capturing the “raw energy and emotional immediacy” of the stage show while embracing the “depth, clarity and detail” of the studio, ‘March Women March’ offers listeners a new way into the show’s hip hop, funk and soul soundworld, and marks the first release from ZooNation Records, a label created to give ZooNation’s theatrical scores and songs a life beyond the stage.
The cast of Sylvia is led by Beverley Knight as Emmeline Pankhurst and Sharon Rose as Sylvia Pankhurst.
The show tells the story of Sylvia, fearless, flawed and fiercely determined – the rebellious middle child of Emmeline Pankhurst, whose activism expanded beyond suffrage to fight for working women, the impoverished and the unheard.
Sylvia premiered to sell-out audiences at The Old Vic in 2023 and will play London’s Royal Albert Hall from 13 to 15 November 2026.
Why the Royal Albert Hall matters: The Royal Albert Hall has a deep historical connection to the women’s suffrage campaign. Between 1908 and 1913 it hosted nearly thirty events linked to the fight for the vote, drawing huge crowds, and was affectionately known by suffragettes as a “Temple of Liberty”. In April 1913, following the intensification of militant tactics, Emmeline Pankhurst, her daughters and the Women’s Social and Political Union were banned from using the venue – the first political group ever barred from the Hall. The ban was later lifted after the partial victory of 1918.
The show is also touring in October and November to the Leicester Curve, Birmingham Hippodrome, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, The Lowry in Salford, Norwich Theatre Royal, and Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury.
