The full cast has been confirmed for the major tour of new musical The Ballad of Johnny & June, about music legends Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter Cash.
The musical is touring the UK from March 2026, including a week at London’s Richmond Theatre.

The stars of Johnny and June musical
The two lead roles were cast back in December, and feature US stage star Christopher Ryan Grant (Million Dollar Quartet) as Johnny Cash, and the West End’s Christina Bianco (The Wizard of Oz, Forbidden Broadway) as June Carter Cash.
Ryan Grant and Bianco will be joined by a talented line-up of actors and musicians including Ryan O’Donnell (A Christmas Carol, Clueless) as Johnny and June’s son John Carter Cash.
The cast also features Christopher Short as Man One (also understudy Johnny Cash); Chomba S. Taulo as Man Two; Peter Peverley as Man Three; Abigail Matthews as Woman One (also understudy June Carter Cash); Anne-Marie Wojna as Woman Two; and Celyn Cartwright as Woman Three (also understudy June Carter Cash).
Swings for the show include Denis Grindel (also understudy Johnny Cash), Lenny Turner (also understudy John Carter Cash), Michael Mahony (also understudy John Carter Cash), and Mia Jae.
The Ballad of Johnny & June is directed by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys, The Who’s Tommy, Summer: The Donna Summer Musical).
