The new UK & Ireland tour of hit West End musical Annie has announced initial casting.
La Voix (Strictly Come Dancing) is set to star as Miss Hannigan in the show, in London (Wimbledon), Birmingham, Manchester, Plymouth and Canterbury.
La Voix is joined in the show by Alex Bourne (The Wizard of Oz), who returns to Annie as Oliver Warbucks. Further casting is to be announced.
Previous stars who have played Miss Hannigan in this production of Annie include Craig Revel Horwood, Paul O’Grady, Elaine C Smith and Jodie Prenger.
The Annie tour is a revival of the Curve Theatre in Leicester’s successful production, directed by Nikolai Foster (Kinky Boots, The Silence of the Lambs).
The tour starts at London’s New Wimbledon Theatre on 23 May 2026, and then visits Birmingham, Manchester, Plymouth, Canterbury, Cardiff, Milton Keynes, Blackpool, Newcastle, Dublin, Bristol, Nottingham, Hull, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Truro, Cheltenham, Stoke-on-Trent, Crawley, Belfast, Aberdeen, Woking, Bradford, Oxford, Sunderland, Norwich, Wolverhampton, Glasgow and Leicester, with further dates to be announced. Annie has music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin and a book by Thomas Meehan, and features a number of much-loved songs including It’s the Hard Knock Life, Easy Street, I Don’t Need Anything But You, and Tomorrow.
Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, brave young Annie is forced to live a life of misery at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage. Her luck soon changes when she’s chosen to spend a fairytale Christmas with famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks. Meanwhile, spiteful Miss Hannigan has other ideas and hatches a plan to spoil Annie’s search for her true family…
