West End impresario Cameron Mackintosh has announced that the world tour of Les Misérables The Arena Concert Spectacular will play more dates including the UK and US.
Today, 8 October 2025, Boublil and Schönberg’s epic musical is celebrating its 40th anniversary, having opened at the Barbican Theatre in London on 8 October 1985. Les Misérables is the world’s longest-running musical.
Les Miserables The Arena Concert Spectacular will continue its world tour through 2026, including Dublin’s 3Arena (Friday 29 May – Saturday 6 June 2026), Birmingham’s Utilita Arena (Thursday 11 – Sunday 14 June 2026), London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall (Thursday 18 – Sunday 21 June 2026) and New York’s Radio City Music Hall for a strictly limited run for 14 shows only from Thursday 23 July to Sunday 2 August 2026.
Full casting for the new tour dates is to be announced soon.
The Arena Tour is about to start at the Shanghai Grand Theatre in Shanghai China, playing from 4 November to 28 December 2025.

Les Misérables The Arena Spectacular world tour is an expanded version of the Les Mis Staged Concert, with a company of over 110 actors, musicians and crew. The major world tour of this Arena version began performances at SSE Arena Belfast on 19 September 2024, and has then travelled around the UK, Europe, Australia, and now Asia.
Tonight will see Les Mis producer Cameron Mackintosh host a very special charity gala evening at the Sondheim Theatre, celebrating the show’s extraordinary 40-year achievement. Guest artists will include Patti LuPone, Michael Ball, Alfie Boe, Samantha Barks, Matt Lucas, Frances Ruffelle, Carrie Hope Fletcher, Gerónimo Rauch, Jeremy Secomb, Bonnie Langford and many more.
Les Misérables is written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg and is based on the novel by Victor Hugo, with music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel, additional material by James Fenton and adaptation by Trevor Nunn and John Caird. Orchestrations are by Stephen Metcalfe, Christopher Jahnke and Stephen Brooker, with original orchestrations by John Cameron.
The production is directed by James Powell and Jean-Pierre Van Der Spuy.

Producer Cameron Mackintosh said in a statement: “The Arena Concert Spectacular, which I put together as a World Tour to celebrate the incredible 40th year of Les Mis continuously running in London, has been a success beyond my wildest dreams, attracting capacity crowds around the world since it opened over a year ago – even in countries where the full stage production has never yet played.
“The Arena Tour has already sold over a million tickets, and the rapturous reception has been the same for over 300 performances in 30 cities across 25 countries around the globe wherever MIZ ROCKS is playing. Continuing what will have been an almost two-year record-breaking run, I am thrilled to announce that in 2026 we will be bringing home this iconic event to Dublin and Birmingham before it plays two of the World’s most iconic music venues – the Royal Albert Hall in London in June and Radio City Music Hall in New York in July.
“We haven’t played the Royal Albert Hall since the show’s legendary 10th Anniversary Concert (which has just been remastered and released on vinyl for the first time) and in New York, Les Misérables has not been seen for almost a decade since we closed our third triumphant run on Broadway. Even our return to Dublin, to the 3Arena (formerly the legendary Point), is full of Les Mis resonance as it is the place where our original Irish star, the great Colm Wilkinson, came home to play Jean Valjean – we hope to have another great Irish star to make the upcoming Dublin engagement equally memorable. We are putting together an incredible array of Les Mis alumni for these engagements and look forward to announcing our cast later in the year.
