Get ready for a night of laughter, nostalgia, and pure British humour as Victoria Wood’s Acorn Antiques The Musical returns to the stage for a special one-night concert performance at Manchester Opera House on 16 November 2025.

A comic masterpiece returns

From the brilliant mind of Victoria Wood, Acorn Antiques The Musical is based on her much-loved sketches from Victoria Wood As Seen on TV. This hilarious musical comedy brings back all your favourite characters — and a healthy dose of northern charm — for a joyous evening packed with laughter and heart.

A star-studded West End cast

The concert features an exceptional cast of West End favourites, including Katherine Kingsley (The Witches, Noises Off) as Miss Babs, Gina Beck (Wicked, Guys and Dolls) as Miss Berta, and Anna-Jane Casey (Cabaret, Billy Elliot) as Miss Bonnie.

They’re joined by Tony Jayawardena (Ackley Bridge, Dr. Strangelove) as Mr Clifford, Rob Madge (Palladium Panto, Cabaret) as Derek, Harry Hepple (Hello, Dolly!) as Tony, Grace Mouat (Mean Girls) as Miss Wellbelove, and Ria Jones (Sunset Boulevard, Gypsy) reprising her celebrated role as Mrs Overall.

Directed by Joseph Houston and William Whelton, with musical supervision by Nigel Lilley, this concert promises a sparkling tribute to Victoria Wood’s genius — filled with side-splitting comedy and toe-tapping tunes.

About the Show

Welcome to Manchesterford, a charming town where time stands still and the tea is always hot. At the heart of it all sits Acorn Antiques, the family-run shop owned by sisters Miss Babs and Miss Berta, alongside their loyal colleague Mr Clifford and the ever-faithful tea lady Mrs Overall.

But when ruthless developers threaten to modernise their beloved high street, chaos ensues. Expect lost wills, surprise triplets, romantic confusions and a generous helping of Victoria Wood’s trademark wit — all wrapped up in a gloriously silly and tuneful show.
