Producers launch global search for the next Marty McFly
The producers of hit West End musical Back to the Future have announced a new star for the London production.
American actor Caden Brauch, who has just finished performing in the US tour of Back to the Future, will join the London company as Marty McFly, from 10 February 2025.
Caden takes over from Vasco Emauz, who has starred in the show since August 2024 and leaves on 8 February.

The producers have also launched a global search to find the next Marty McFly, with the successful actor getting the chance to lead the company in one of the respective productions around the world.

Winner of Best New Musical at the Olivier Awards, Back to the Future is entering its 4th year in London, having opened at the Adelphi Theatre in September 2021.

2025 also marks the 40th anniversary of the original movie, starring Michael J Fox.
Back to the Future recently closed on Broadway, and the US tour is currently running to August 2025. The show is also playing in Germany and will open in Japan and Australia later this year.
Back to the Future is based on the Universal Pictures/Amblin Entertainment film, and has a book by Bob Gale and new music and lyrics by Emmy and Grammy Award-winning Alan Silvestri and six-time Grammy Award-winning Glen Ballard, with additional songs from the film including The Power of Love and Johnny B. Goode.
The show is directed by Tony Award-winning director John Rando (Urinetown, On The Town), alongside the multi Tony and Olivier Award-winning design team of Tim Hatley (set and costume design), Tim Lutkin (lighting), Hugh Vanstone (lighting consultant), Gareth Owen (sound) and Finn Ross (video), with choreography by Chris Bailey, musical supervision and arrangements by Nick Finlow and Illusions by Chris Fisher. Orchestrations are by Ethan Popp and Bryan Crook, with dance arrangements by David Chase. Casting is by David Grindrod CDG for Grindrod Burton Casting.
Back to the Future is currently booking at the Adelphi Theatre until 27 July 2025.
