Long-running West End musical Wicked has celebrated another milestone in London, as it opens up booking into 2026.
The award-winning stage musical, which has been turned into a new blockbuster movie, will tonight – 15 November 2024 – celebrate its 7,000th performance at the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London.
The show is the 10th long-running show in West End history, and in September celebrated its 18th birthday in London.
Wicked has also added more dates to its booking period, extending to 4 January 2026.
One of the most successful musicals of all time, Wicked opened in London in 2006 and has now been seen by over 12 million people in London alone.

Part One of the new two-part Universal Pictures film version of Wicked, starring Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey, is released in the UK on 22 November 2024.
Wicked is also touring the UK, with final dates including Cardiff’s Wales Millennium until 23 November, and then Manchester’s Palace Theatre.
Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman’s celebrated stage musical is based on the acclaimed novel by Gregory Maguire and imagines a beguiling backstory and future possibilities to the lives of L. Frank Baum’s beloved characters from ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’. Wicked reveals the decisions and events that shape the destinies of two unlikely university friends on their journey to becoming ‘Glinda The Good’ and the ‘Wicked Witch of the West’.
Wicked has music and lyrics by multi-Oscar and Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, Enchanted), based on the best-selling novel ‘Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West’ by Gregory Maguire. The show’s book is by Winnie Holzman (My So-Called Life), with musical staging by Tony Award-winner Wayne Cilento, and direction by two-time Tony Award-winner Joe Mantello.
