Casting announced for Virginia Gay’s Cyrano at the Park Theatre, London.
Virginia Gay leads the cast of this gender-flipped Cyrano, taking on the title role as she falls for the brilliant and beautiful Roxanne, played by Jessica Whitehurst (Ridley, ITV; The Comedy of Errors, The Globe).
Joseph Evans, known for Coronation Street makes his stage debut as Yan. The ensemble cast includes Tessa Wong (Black Mirror, Netflix), David Tarkenter (The Motive and the Cue and The Red Barn, National Theatre), and Tanvi Virmani (Minority Report, Lyric Theatre; The Crown Jewels, Garrick Theatre).
Following a sold-out European premiere at Edinburgh’s Traverse Theatre, where it earned the Fringe First award, Cyrano transfers to Park Theatre this December.
This fresh take on Edmond Rostand’s classic is a big-hearted, irreverent rom-com packed with music, wit, and aching romance—a love letter to hope, connection, language, and desire, celebrating the irresistible magic of theatre. Cyrano is direct by Clare Watson .
Virginia Gay, an award-winning Australian actor, writer, and director, has starred in Colin from Accounts, Winners & Losers, All Saints, and as herself on Dancing With The Stars.
Cyrano runs from 11 December 2024 to 11 January 2025 at Park Theatre, London.
