Hit fringe show I Wish You Well: The Gwyneth Paltrow Ski-Trial Musical is transferring into the West End next month.
Coming to the Criterion Theatre in London from 11 September 2024, the show has already proved a hit at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The musical comedy centres on the 2023 Gwyneth Paltrow Hollywood court case, telling the (mostly) true story of one of the campest celebrity trials in history: Gwyneth vs Terry, with Academy Award winner and devastating downhill skier Gwyneth Paltrow defending her legacy in a snoozy Utah courtroom.
The show is a fast-paced parody that, according to press materials, “sounds as good as Gwyneth’s candles smell”!
The full cast from the successful Fringe run will transfer with the show into London, including X factor star Diana Vickers (Dial M for Murder) as Gwyneth, Marc Antolin (Quiz) as Terry, Tori Allen-Martin (Wild About You) as Kristin, and Idriss Kargbo (Wicked) as Judge Jude.
I Wish You Well: The Gwyneth Paltrow Ski-Trial Musical has music and lyrics by Rick Pearson, and a book and lyrics by Roger Dipper.
The show is directed by Shiv Rabheru (Hamilton), with musical direction by Debbi Clark, choreography by Dame Arlene Phillips, Lighting design by Alex Lewer, Set design by David Shields and Sound design by Dan Samson. The producer is Paul Taylor-Mills.
I Wish You Well: The Gwyneth Paltrow Ski-Trial Musical is playing the Criterion Theatre in London from 11 September to 12 October 2024.
The show is also currently playing the Underbelly in Edinburgh until 26 August.
