Theatre streaming platform National Theatre at Home has announced two new shows.
The critically acclaimed production of People, Places & Things starring Denise Gough (Angels in America), which is now in its final week at the Trafalgar Theatre in London, is joining the platform.
Duncan Macmillan’s (Lungs, 1984) hit play is directed by Jeremy Herrin (The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, Best of Enemies, Wolf Hall, This House), and sees Denise Gough reprise her Olivier Award-winning role as Emma, a struggling actress whose life is spinning recklessly out of control.
Also added from September is VANYA starring Andrew Scott (Ripley, All of us Strangers, Fleabag). Scott brings to life multiple characters in this emotional and radical new version of Chekhov’s masterpiece Uncle Vanya. The show is adapted by Simon Stephens (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time) and directed by Sam Yates (Glengarry Glen Ross, Murder Ballad).
Both shows will premiere on the streamer on 19 September 2024, with VANYA from 7pm UK time, and People, Places and Things from 9pm. Following the premiere, both productions will be available to stream on the platform.
