Azan Ahmed & Johnny Khan will star in Statues at Bush Theatre in London.
Written by Azan Ahmed, the play is a witty, honest and deeply moving piece exploring the impact of loss. Joining Ahmed will be Jonny Khan (The Tempest, RSC and Vanishing Room, New Diorama Theatre).
Azan Ahmed said, “This play is a love letter to all the wonderful possibilities British Muslim men hold but are forced to hold down because they are British Muslim men. I’m super excited to tell a story where the audience will be tapping their feet one minute and clutching their hearts the next.”
The show follows Yusuf as he unexpectedly uncovers the secret past, hopes, dreams, and aspirations of his father, who had led a seemingly quiet life.
Directed by Esme Allman, Statues will run from 9 October to 9 November at the Bush Theatre.
