Casting has been revealed for the forthcoming concert version of Your Lie in April, playing the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
The European premiere of this manga-to-musical concert will take place on 8 and 9 April 2024 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
The show will star Zheng Xi Yong (Spring Awakening) as Kōsei Arima and Rumi Sutton (Hex) as Kaori Miyazono, alongside Rachel Clare Chan (Death Note), Joanna Ampil (Miss Saigon) and Dean John-Wilson (Death Note).
The cast will also include Eu Jin Hwang, Julie Yammanee, Jade Albertsen, Lauren Chia, Hannah Yun Chamberlain, Imogen Rose Hart, Yuki Abe, Chris Fung, Ernest Stroud, JoJo Meredith, Michael Lin, Samuel How, Jason Yang-Westland.
Directed and choreographed by Nick Winston (Bonnie & Clyde, Burlesque The Musical), Your Lie in April is adapted from Naoshi Arakawa’s hugely successful manga, and boasts music by Frank Wildhorn (Bonnie and Clyde, Death Note, Jekyll and Hyde), lyrics by Carly Robyn Green and Tracy Miller, a Japanese book by Riko Sakaguchi, and English book by Rinne B Groff.
The concert production’s design will be by Justin Williams, with music arrangements and orchestrations by Jason Howland, alongside musical supervisor Katy Richardson, musical director Christopher Poon, casting director Harry Blumenau, and cultural consultant Yojiro Ichikawa.
