Wild About You, A New Musical is to have its world premiere in London in Spring 2024 starring Will & Grace’s Eric McCormack.
Presented in concert, the show will play two-performances at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane on Monday 25 March and Tuesday 26 March 2024.
Eric McCormack, best known for TV series Will & Grace, has previously appeared on stage inThe Cottage, The Best Man and The Music Man.
Wild About You, which was previously titled With(out) Her, features music and lyrics by Chilina Kennedy, a book by Eric Holmes. This concert production will be directed & choregographed by Nick Winston with casting by Harry Blumenau. Further casting for Wild About You is to be announced.
The storyline, set to a pop-folk score, revolves around Olivia, waking up in a hospital with a hazy memory, attempting to piece together her life. The narrative explores themes of love, loss, and rediscovery.
A cast album was recorded earlier this year with an all-star cast that included Broadway favourites Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Here Lies Love, Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends), Alex Newell (Shucked), Joaquina Kalukango (Paradise Square), Jenn Colella (Come From Away), Eric McCormack (Will & Grace), Aisha Jackson (Once Upon A One More Time), Noah Ricketts (Frozen), and Jay McKenzie (Paradise Square).
Wild About You is the latest musical to be presented in concert style in London’s West End, following a string of hits that have included Bonnie & Clyde, Death Note, Love Never Dies, SuperYou and Bat Boy: The Musical. More upcoming concert productions include: The Addams Family starring Ramin Karimloo, Michelle Visage and Lesley Joseph running at the London Palladium on 12-13 February 2024; My Favorite Things: The Rodgers & Hammerstein 80th Anniversary Concert at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on 12 December starring Audra McDonald, Julian Ovenden, Marisha Wallace, Patrick Wilson, Daniel Dae Kim, Ashley Park and Aaron Tveit; and, Side Show starring Rachel Tucker and Louise Dearman.
