This Christmas the McOnie Company reinvents a classic with a thrilling new take on Nutcracker, opening at London’s hottest new venue the Tuff Nutt Jazz Club at Southbank Centre.
Diving into the glittering winter wonderland head on, McOnie Company dancers perform to Tchaikovsky’s world famous score, reimagined for an onstage Jazz band by multi-award winning jazz artist Cassie Kinoshi.
Playful, mischievous and a lot of fun, the show is directed and choreographed by award-winner Drew McOnie (In the Heights, Jesus Christ Superstar, Strictly Ballroom), and is packed with hope, heart and humour.
Nutcracker is playing at the Tuff Nutt Jazz Cafe at the Southbank Centre in London from 28 October 2023 to 6 January 2024.

Who is in the cast of Nutcracker - Tuff Nutt Jazz Club?
The cast for Nutcracker includes Amonik Melaco (Action Man), Sam Salter (Clive) and Patricia Zhou (Sugarplum) with Chanelle Anthony, Christie Crosson, Tim Hodges, Lukas Hunt and Rachel Muldoon.
Due to injury Sam Salter is currently off and the role of Clive is being played by Mark Samaras.
Who are the creative team of Nutcracker - Tuff Nutt Jazz Club?
Directed and choreographed by Drew McOnie. Music by Tchaikovsky, reimagined for an on stage jazz band by Cassie Kinoshi. Music co-composed by Cassie Kinoshi and Rio Kai. Venue and set design by Soutra Gilmour, costume design by Ryan Dawson Laight, music supervision by Benjamin Kwasi Burrell, lighting design by Joshie Hariette, sound design by Simon Baker, and casting by Will Burton CDG.
Important Notes
Access:
Nutcracker is British Sign Language interpreted (BSL). BSL is incorporated into the show by members of the company. Audio Description is available during the performances on Sun 19 Nov at 2pm and Wed 20 Dec at 7.30pm. A Sensory Adapted performance takes place on Sun 26 Nov at 2pm, preceded by a Touch Tour, which begins at 1pm.
