Dates and details have been announced for the West End revival of Cabaret starring Eddie Redmayne and Jessie Buckley. Tickets for Cabaret are now on sale.
Directed by Rebecca Frecknall, most recently lauded for her production of Summer & Smoke, the highly anticipated production will open at the Playhouse Theatre on 15 November 2021.
Cabaret Tickets go on general sale on 22 July 2021, with a second ticket release on 6 September. A ticket lottery will also be unveiled in September.
Frecknall’s production promises to reimagine the classic musical with the Playhouse Theatre set to be adapted into the round by producers, with table seating available for guests, as well as three course, pre-show dining at cabaret tables. Spectators will be able to arrive early to explore and immerse themselves in the space.
Kander and Ebb’s classic musical features the songs Wilkommen, Don’t Tell Mama, Mein Herr, Maybe This Time, Money and the much loved title number. It has music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, book by Joe Masteroff.
Oscar winner Redmayne will play Emcee, Master of Ceremonies at the Kit Kat Klub – a seedy Berlin haunt in the final, care-free, anything-goes days of the Weimar Republic. Whilst Buckley, who recently appeared in Romeo & Juliet with The Crown‘s Josh O’Conner, Season 4 of Fargo, Chernobyl and Wild Rose, will play the Kit Kat Klub’s star, Sally Bowles.
Artwork has also been released which gives an insight into the direction of Frecknall’s production.
