The West End welcomes the return of Samantha Bond, who will star in a glittering new production of Oscar Wilde’s An Ideal Husband at the Vaudeville Theatre from 4 November.
Best known for playing Miss Moneypenny in the James Bond films, Samantha’s extensive stage credits include David Hare’s award-winning play Amy’s View at the National Theatre, Michael Frayn’s Donkey’s Years at the Comedy Theatre, Oscar Wilde’s A Woman of No Importance at the Theatre Royal Haymarket and Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia at the Duke of York’s Theatre.
TV roles include Distant Shores, Outnumbered, Mansfield Park, Emma, Rumpole of the Bailey and Agatha Christie’s Poirot.
In An Ideal Husband, Lindsay Posner will direct Bond alongside her real-life husband Alexander Hanson, Elliott Cowan and Rachael Stirling.
Wilde’s witty and stylish 1895 play was last produced in London by Peter Hall in 1996.
