The hit comedy film Local Hero takes to the stage as John Crowley directs a new musical adaptation by Bill Forsyth and David Greig (Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax) with music and songs by the legendary Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits).
Local Hero is booking from 18 June 2020 until 28 August 2020 at the Old Vic Theatre, London.
This production has now been postponed until 2023 – with full dates to be announced.

What is Local Hero about?
When Mac MacIntyre, an ambitious Texan oil executive arrives in Scotland on a mission to replace a small seaside village with an oil refinery, he’s met with concerned residents. It’s the deal of a lifetime, but Mac soon finds that putting a price on this beautiful spot is more complicated than he bargained for. Before the locals get rich, they must decide what their home is worth.
