ABOUT JASON DONOVAN
Jason Donovan will return to the West End in the upcoming revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the London Palladium.
Jason initially achieved fame in the Australian soap Neighbours with fellow co-star Kylie Minogue, before beginning a career in music. In the UK he has sold over 3 million records with his debut album Ten Good Reasons becoming the highest-selling album in the UK in 1989 in later years he has become a presenter on radio.
Jason made his defining stage performance as the title character of Joseph in the 1990s, also at the London Palladium, in a sold-out 18-month run which produced a No.1 single and best-selling soundtrack album. It remains one of the most successful revivals of all time.
WHAT ROLE DOES JASON DONOVAN PLAY?
Donovan will take on the role of Pharaoh in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s iconic musical which is re-imagined in a brand new production directed by Laurence Connor.

Jason Donovan’s West End credits include Priscilla Queen of the Desert (Palace Theatre) and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (London Palladium). He has also appeared in touring productions of Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds, The Sound of Music and Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd.
WHAT IS JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT ABOUT?
Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical is based on the story of the coat of many colours from the Bible’s Book of Genesis and features numbers such as “Close Every Door”, “Benjamin Calypso” and “Any Dream Will Do”.
Released as a concept album in 1969, the stage version of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has become one of the world’s most beloved family musicals over the last fifty years.
