I saw this production last night with my kids, they loved it. However I was really surprised and disappointed to witness an all white cast putting on fake turkish accents and appropriating british caribbean accents during a ‘rap’ number. The content itself was fine, and I would argue there is absolutely no reason to also ‘fake’ an accent, it would have been just as funny and entertaining without it and less offensive. As a white person in the audience, I was really embarrassed.
