Frozen at the Theatre Royal Haymarket

W1A's Nina Sosanya has been cast in the West End production of Frozen. Bryony Lavery’s psychological drama about the dissappearance of a young girl and the years that follow stars Doctor Foster's Suranne Jones as the bereaved mother and Line of Duty's Jason Watkins as the perpetrator. Sosanya is the link between to the two, playing a doctor studying what causes men to commit such crimes. Nina Sosanya is known on television for Last Tango in Halfax, Marcella, Twenty Twelve and Teachers. Her extensive theatre credits include Platonov and Ivanov, Antony and Cleopatra, Fix Up and House and Garden for the National Theatre, The Vote, Privacy and The Vortex (Donmar Warehouse), Cat On a Hot Tin Roof (Novello Theatre), Love’s Labour’s Lost, As You Like It, The Herbal Bed and Henry V for the RSC. Jonathan Munby, fresh from directing Ian McKellen in King Lear at Chichester will direct, with design by Paul Wills, video design by Luke Halls, lighting by Jon Clark, music by Rupert Cross and sound by Christopher Shutt. Suranne Jones and Jason Watkins will star in the West End production of Bryony Lavery’s psychological thriller Frozen. Lavery’s award winning play about a mother whose child goes missing explores the interwoven lives of three strangers as they try to make sense of the unimaginable A play about retribution, remorse and redemption, Frozen is directed by Jonathan Munby, with design by Paul Wills. Frozen will play a strictly limited twelve-week season at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from February 2018. Doctor Foster actress Suranne Jones is known for five series of the popular ITV drama Scott & Bailey,  The Brian Pern Show, The Crimson Field for the BBC and Corontation Street. Jones theatre credits include Top Girls (Chichester Festival Theatre / West End), A Few Good Men at Theatre Royal Haymarket with Rob Lowe, Blithe Spirit, Terms of Endearment and the 20th anniversary West End revival of Beautiful Thing at the Arts Theatre. Jason Watkins is best known for his performance in acclaimed drama The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies, for which he won Best Actor at the 2015 BAFTA Television Awards. He is also known for playing ‘Gavin Strong’ in Sky 1 comedy series Trollied, as well as ‘Simon Harwood’ in the popular BBC comedy W1A. Further casting is to be announced.
