Sue Townsend’s The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13¾- The Musical is brought to life in a new musical stage adaption.

With an infectious score and a script which stays true to the original novel, this heart-warming musical brings Adrian’s story to life for a whole new generation.

The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13¾- The Musical runs from 15 June 2019 until 28 September 2019 at The Ambassadors Theatre, London.

STORY

Set in 1980s Leicester, we follow the daily dramas and misadventures of Adrian’s adolescent life.

With dysfunctional parents, ungrateful elders, a growing debt to school bully Barry Kent and an unruly pimple on his chin, life is hard for a misunderstood intellectual who is only 13¾ …

To top it off, when new girl Pandora joins the class and captures his heart, his best friend Nigel steals hers. Can Adrian win her love and escape from his chaotic family life?

CAST

The cast features Rosemary Ashe (The Witches of Eastwick) as Grandma, Lara Denning (Matilda) as Miss Elf/Doreen Slater, John Hopkins (BBC series Poldark) as Mr Lucas/Mr Scruton, Andrew Langtree (Groundhog Day) as George, Amy Ellen Richardson (Les Misérables)as Pauline, and Ian Talbot OBE (Hairspray) as Bert Baxtor. Also in the cast are Holly Ashton and Mathew Craig and a childrens cast of 16.

Leicester Curve's hit production of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13¾ - The Musical will open in the West End this summer. Based on Sue Townsend's series of novels about the young intellectual Adrian Mole growing up in the 1980s, the 5-star production previously ran at Leicester Curve in 2015 and the Menier Chocolate Factory in 2017. The musical opens at the Ambassadors Theatre on 15 June 2019 and runs until 12 October 2019. Directed by Luke Sheppard, the musical has book and lyrics by Jake Brunger and music and lyrics by Pippa Cleary.
