What’s the Story?

Inspired by the BBC documentary ‘Jamie: Drag Queen at 16’, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is the powerful story of a boy with a passion for drag.

Jamie New is sixteen and lives on a council estate in Sheffield. Jamie doesn’t quite fit in. Jamie is terrified about the future. Jamie is going to be a sensation.

Supported by his brilliant loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies and steps out of the darkness, into the spotlight.

Katy Brand plays Miss Hedge until to 20 June 2020, with Rufus Hound joining the cast as Hugo/Loco Chanelle from 16 March to 30 May 2020..

  2. This is a don’t miss show. Lots of laughs, fabulous music and dance but also tugs at your heartstrings. John McCrae gives a knock out performance and is teamed with a talented cast; the audience was cheering, on their feet.
