Times are hard for dreamers but Amélie is someone to believe in

Amélie The Musical returns to the heart of London’s West End this Summer following its West End premiere in 2019 and smash-hit UK tour.

Inspired by the much loved five-time Oscar nominated film, Amélie The Musical follows the story of an imaginative and shy romantic with a gift for helping others. Described as “an enchanting act of theatrical reinvention” (The Los Angeles Times), this heartfelt musical has garnered critical and public acclaim.

Olivier-nominee Audrey Brisson (The Elephantom, Pinocchio and Pericles (National Theatre), The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk (Kneehigh), and The Grinning Man (Bristol Old Vic)), will return to the role of ‘Amélie’.

Amélie The Musical is booking until 25 September at the Criterion Theatre Theatre, London.

What’s the Story?

Amélie is an extraordinary young woman who lives quietly in the world, but loudly in her mind. She covertly improvises small, but surprising acts of kindness that bring joy to those around her. But when a chance at love comes her way, Amélie realises that to find happiness she’ll have to risk everything and say what’s in her heart.

Come be inspired by this imaginative dreamer who finds her voice, discovers the power of connection and sees possibility around every corner. In these uncertain times, Amélie is someone to believe in.

In line with current Government guidelines, the production will play with social distancing in place and the seating plan and booking system has been designed to facilitate this process. Producer Louis Hartshorn, CEO of Hartshorn-Hook Productions, said, “Amélie is about kindness, distance and human connection, and resonates deeply with what we have all been through over the last year. We're very excited to be bringing this beautiful production to the West End and contributing to the reopening of the theatre industry. We thank the Arts Council and DCMS for the support of the Culture Recovery Fund and our hard working producing and creative teams for their passionate and careful work to bring our shows back to the stage.”   Production image of Amélie The Musical at The Other Palace Theatre.
