30 October 2016
An evening with Michael Douglas at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane
American film star Michael Douglas will share his passion for acting, producing and writing up close and personal in an on-stage interview with British TV personality, Jonathan Ross, at London’s prestigious Drury Lane Theatre on Sunday 30th October.
An actor with over forty years of experience in theatre, film and television, Douglas branched out into independent feature production in 1975 with the Academy Award-winning One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975). Since then, as a producer and as an actor-producer, he has shown an uncanny knack for choosing projects that reflect changing trends and public concerns.
Over the years, he has been involved in controversial and politically influential films including One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975), The China Syndrome (1979) and Traffic (2000), and popular films such as Fatal Attraction (1987), Romancing the Stone (1984), A Chorus Line (1985), Wall Street (1987), Basic Instinct (1992) and The Game (1997).
Douglas received widespread acclaim for his portrayal of amoral corporate raider Gordon Gekko in the Oliver Stone-directed drama, Wall Street, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor. He reprised the role in the sequel, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010).
In 2013, Douglas’s performance as Liberace in the HBO biopic, Behind the Candelabra, received universal critical acclaim, and the actor won numerous accolades for his role, including Golden Globe, Emmy and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
An Evening with Michael Douglas will occur on the 30 October 2016 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
