Leslie Odom Jr is set to leave the Tony Award-winning hit musical Hamilton next month.
Odom Jr, who won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical earlier this month, follows cast mates Lin-Manuel Miranda and Phillipa Soo who are also leaving the show.
During a Facebook Live broadcast Odom Jr said: “I am indeed leaving on July 9. It has just been the most completely wonderful, totally healing and inspiring experience from beginning to end.
“I will never forget the people that I’ve met here. I will never forget all of you… I can’t wait to see all the guys that come after me and show me [more] about Burr.”
Odom Jr plays Aaron Burr, the third vice president of the United States, in the hip-hop musical about the life of Alexander Hamilton, one of the United States Founding Father’s.
Hamilton received a record breaking 16 Tony Award nominations going on to win 11 awards including Best New Musical.
The show previously announced it will have touring productions in the US, Australia and London, with UK production opening in October 2017 at the Victoria Palace Theatre.
Lin-Manuel Miranda, Phillipa Soo and Leslie Odom Jr have yet to confirm if they will reprise their roles for the London premiere.
