Richard Armstrong conducts Puccini’s heart-rending score. The superb cast is led by American soprano Rena Harms as Butterfly and British tenor David Butt Philip in his role debut as Pinkerton

STORY

Day after day, week after week, month after month, she waits for him. She knows that a love as perfect as hers, as pure and powerful, could never fail to bring him back, across the ocean. He will return. She is sure he will. One fine day.

The cast includes Rena Harms (Cio-Cio San), David Butt Philip (F. B. Pinkerton), George von Bergen (Sharpless), Pamela Helen Stephen (Suzuki), Alun Rhys Jenkins (Goro), Matthew Durkan (Yamadori), Samantha Price (Kate Pinkerton) and Mark Richardson (The Bonze).

CREATIVE

Directed by Anthony Minghella, with revival direction and choreography by Sarah Tipple, Madam Butterfly is conducted by Sir Richard Armstrong with set design by Michael Levine, costume design by Han Feng, lighting design by Peter Mumford and revival choreography by Anita Griffin.
