The highly-anticipated major new musical theatre adaptation of The Wind In The Willows transfers to the West End.

Based on Kenneth Grahame’s treasured novel which has captivated generations of readers for over a century, The Wind In The Willows has been adapted for the stage with a book by Oscar-winning screenwriter and Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes and Olivier Award-winning composer and lyricist team George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

Leading actor, comedian and presenter Rufus Hound stars as the amazing Mr Toad with EastEnders and Shrek star Neil McDermott as Chief Weasel.

Featuring spectacular stagecraft, this sparkling new musical with a glorious original score brings this treasured British classic to life in what is set to be 2017’s wildest theatrical adventure.

The Wind In The Willows runs from 17 June 2017 until 2 September 2017 at London Palladium.

STORY

Kenneth Grahame’s wild tale about the thrill-seeking, lovable menace Mr Toad comes to life in a brand new stage musical. Join Ratty, Badger, Mole and the exuberant Toad as they embark on a series of adventures and misadventures caused by his insatiable need for speed!

Imprisoned for theft and with his existence under threat from the inhabitants of the Wild Wood, Toad must attempt a daring escape to defend Toad Hall.

CAST

The cast features Rufus Hound (Mr Toad), Neil McDermott (Chief Weasel), Jenna Boyd, Abigail Brodie, Jorell Coiffic-Kamall, Nicole Deon, James Gant, Evan James, Michael Larcombe, Bethany Linsdell, Ryan Pidgen, Adam Vaughan and Georgie Westall.

CREATIVE TEAM

Adapted for the stage with a book by Julian Fellowes and lyrics and music by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. The production is directed by Rachel Kavanaugh with design by Peter McKintosh and lighting design by Howard Harrison.

Rufus Hound and Neil McDermott will star in the major new West End musical production of The Wind In The Willows at the London Palladium. Rufus Hound will play the amazing Mr Toad with EastEnders and Shrek star Neil McDermott as Chief Weasel. One of the UK’s leading actors, presenters and comedians, Hound was most recently seen on stage in Don Quixote (Royal Shakespeare Company), The Wars of the Roses (Rose Theatre) and as Freddy in the original West End production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Savoy Theatre). A regular guest on comedy panel shows such as Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC), Would I Lie To You? (BBC), and 8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4), his other television credits include Doctor Who (BBC), Cucumber (Channel 4), Drunk History (Comedy Central), A Touch of Cloth (SKY) and Hounded (BBC). Neil McDermott is best known for portraying Ryan Malloy in EastEnders. His stage credits include Lord Farquaad in Shrek The Musical (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane), Jean-Michel in La Cage Aux Folles (Menier Chocolate Factory) and Rolf Gruber in The Sound of Music (London Palladium). The cast will also feature Jenna Boyd, Abigail Brodie, Jorell Coiffic-Kamall, Nicole Deon, James Gant, Evan James, Michael Larcombe, Bethany Linsdell, Ryan Pidgen, Adam Vaughan and Georgie Westall, with further casting to be announced shortly.
