First look at Benedict Cumberbatch in Hamlet at the Barbican theatre

The most highly anticipated show of the year – Hamlet starring Benedict Cumberbatch at the Barbican theatre has released production images.  The production is currently previewing and will open on 25 August 2015 at the Barbican theatre.

Cumberbatch has had a trying week with a few technical difficulties most notably having to restart opening lines to the famous ‘to be or not to be’ soliloquy when a curtain started to come down on Saturday’s show and carpet getting stuck in a trap door.

There was a furore early last week when the Daily Mail and The Times broke the cardinal rule and reviewed the production before press night.
