Hans Christian Andersen’s The Tinderbox comes to the Charing Cross Theatre this Christmas.
A new version of the famous folk tale by Hans Christian Andersen promises to delight young audiences and their families this Chritmas.
Based on a Scandinavian folk tale Andersen learned in his childhood, join our loveable cheeky hero, Brian the Brave, a penniless solider returning from war who acquires a magic tinderbox and embarks on a quest to find his true love. This enchanting, fun filled musical features an array of wonderful, colourful characters, cleverly combining classical music and story-telling with comedy, lots of audience interaction a few surprises along the way! An unmissable treat for the whole family.
The Tinderbox plays for a strictly limited season from 12 December 2015 until 2 January 2016 at the Charing Cross theatre.

The cast includes Samuel J Weir (Brian The Brave), Ceris Hine (The Gold Dog), Bridget Costello (The Princess), and Mandy Holliday (The Old Witch, Harry the Hound & The Wicked Queen).
CREATIVE
Mandy Holliday’s adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Tinderbox is directed by Abigail Pickard Price with choreography by Lily Howkins and design by Christopher Hone. The show is produced by Jason Belne & Amanda Armstrong.
