Ray Fearon is a British actor of stage, film and TV known for his extensive work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and for his role as Nathan Harding in Coronation Street. He is currently starring in August Wilson’s Fences as Troy.
Roy Fearon in Fences
Fearon leads the cast of Headlong’s new production of August Wilson’s Fences as Troy – a trash collector who has grown bitter about his lack of success due to the colour of his skin, and a former Negro Leagues baseball player whose life took a different course. Fearon’s performance has drawn strong reviews from critics, with The Guardian’s Catherine Love calling his portrayal “horribly compelling.”
The production, directed by Daniel Bailey, is a co-production between Headlong, Leeds Playhouse, Lyric Hammersmith Theatre and Home Manchester, and marks the first major UK revival of the play in over a decade. It will play at the Lyric Hammersmith from 6 to 31 October 2026.
