The full cast has been announced for the highly anticipated West End transfer of Into the Woods, Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s iconic Grimms Brothers musical. This reimagined revival was critically acclaimed during its run at The Bridge Theatre earlier this year.
The Olivier Award-winning revival of Into the Woods brings plenty of fairy tale magic to the West End when it arrives at the Noël Coward Theatre on 22 September. Playing a limited run at the venue, the transfer follows a sold-out and critically acclaimed season at the Bridge Theatre.
As previously announced, Kate Fleetwood (A View from the Bridge, My Master Builder) will return as the Witch, a role for which she received universal praise. Also returning from the original Bridge Theatre principal cast is Gracie McGonigal (Bridgerton, The Little Foxes) as Little Red Riding Hood.
The new cast joining the production includes John Dagleish, Laura Pitt-Pulford, Simbi Akande and more.
Producer Jamie Wilson said today, “We have been blown away by the public reaction to the West End transfer of Into The Woods. With the cast who have joined this transfer and those who have been with the production since 2025, we have a phenomenal group of performers.
Having won multiple Olivier Awards, over the last months we have enjoyed collaborating on how we adapt the Bridge Theatre production into its new life at one of the West Ends most beautiful playhouses, the Noël Coward Theatre.”

What is Into the Woods about?
This delightfully magical and equally dark musical explores the hidden complexities of human desire but turning the idea of a fairytale ending on its head. Familiar characters like Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Jack (of beanstalk fame) journey into the woods to make their dreams come true, but all is not as it seems.
It’s the second collaboration between Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine, after Sunday in the Park with George. This new production breathes new life into the spellbinding masterpiece.
Directed by Jordan Fein (Fiddler on the Roof) and designed by Tony Award-winner Tom Scutt (Cabaret), it’s been celebrated by critics and is set to be a very popular transfer.
The show will run at the Noel Coward Theatre from 22 September 2026 to 9 January 2027.
