The full cast has been revealed for I’m Every Woman – The Chaka Khan Musical, with Alexandra Burke leading the company as the multi-platinum-selling global superstar herself. The new musical comes to Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre this summer for a strictly limited season from 22 July to 27 September 2026, with a national press night on 4 August.

Charting Chaka Khan’s extraordinary rise to stardom, the production reveals the woman behind the icon: her passion for civil rights, her defiance in the face of a toxic music industry, her road through addiction, and the pressures of being a working mother. Following its premiere earlier this year at Hackney Empire, the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry and the Congress Theatre in Eastbourne, the show now arrives in London with a book by Nia T. Hill and direction by Racky Plews. Tickets are on sale now.

Alexandra Burke — the singer who first rose to fame as a chart-topping recording artist before building a substantial musical theatre career across shows including The Bodyguard, Sister Act and Chess — is well suited to the vocal demands of one of the most influential voices in popular music. Several of her co-stars arrive from the West End company of TINA – The Tina Turner Musical, bringing real pedigree in the music-biography genre to the production.

About the show

I’m Every Woman is the powerful and inspiring life story of one of the most influential voices of our time. Unapologetically bold and deeply human, the production charts Chaka Khan’s rise from her early days to global superstardom: a journey of music, love and betrayal, populated by an array of her famous friends. At its heart, it is a story of resilience, purpose and power: a celebration of the woman behind the legend.

The show features Chaka Khan’s much-loved songs, released both as a solo artist and as lead singer of the band Rufus, including I Feel for You, Tell Me Something Good, Ain’t Nobody, Sweet Thing, Higher Love and Through the Fire.

Chaka Khan said: “This musical is more than my story. It’s every woman’s story. It’s about finding your voice, owning your truth, and rising through everything life throws at you. I’m honoured to see my journey brought to the stage with such heart, strength, and authenticity.
