Fourteen Again – the hilarious new Victoria Wood musical

Following a critically acclaimed run at The Victoria Wood Theatre in Bowness-on-Windermere this spring, new musical Fourteen Again will premiere at the Menier Chocolate Factory this autumn.

Ria Jones and Sally Ann Triplett reunite to reprise their roles of Lou and Peggy, while Neil Morrissey, best known for playing Tony in Men Behaving Badly is playing Duncan.

Fourteen Again is directed by Jonathan O’Boyle, and was commissioned by Wood’s close friends and collaborators – producer Charlotte Scott and designer Roger Glossop – to mark the 10th anniversary of Wood’s death.

The production was also crafted from Wood’s songbook by Tom MacRae (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) craft from Wood’s songbook, and is built around the legendary songs of Victoria Wood, bringing her brilliantly observed humour and storytelling to a brand-new generation of theatre audiences.

Fourteen Again begins at the local Slimming Club, where Peggy is reunited with Lou, her best friend from school who she hasn’t seen since they were teenagers. As kids, no two friends were ever funnier or more fun, but here, now, today they are shadows of their younger selves — and a story unfolds of looking back to the future, full of comedy, love and pain, with Victoria Wood’s amazing songs moving the musical fast forward.
