The multi-award-winning musical Oliver! at the Gielgud Theatre in London has hit a new West End milestone.
On Saturday (28 February 2026), Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed revival celebrated its 500th performance at the Gielgud Theatre in London.
This major new production of Oliver! premiered at Chichester Festival Theatre in 2024, scoring great reviews from the critics, before opening in the West End in December 2024.
Last week the show announced that Oliver! is extending its booking period in London, and is now playing at the Gielgud until 14 March 2027.

- Oliver! is based on Charles Dickens’ classic story.
- Lionel Bart’s famous score features lots of well-known songs including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah, As Long As He Needs Me and many more.
- This new production of Oliver! has been reconceived by Cameron Mackintosh, along with director and choreographer Matthew Bourne.
The cast of Oliver!
The current West End cast of the show stars Simon Lipkin (Guys and Dolls, Avenue Q) as Fagin, Ava Brennan (Top Boy, Hamilton) as Nancy, Oscar Conlon-Morrey (Only Fools and Horses The Musical) as Mr. Bumble, Aaron Sidwell (Henry VI, Wicked) as Bill Sikes, Aaron MacGregor (Les Misérables) as the Artful Dodger, Philip Franks (The Rocky Horror Show, Witness for the Prosecution) as Mr. Brownlow, Katy Secombe (The Music Man, Les Misérables) as Widow Corney, Stephen Matthews (Strictly Ballroom, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) as Mr. Sowerberry/Dr. Grimwig, and Jamie Birkett (Peter Pan Goes Wrong, Mamma Mia! The Party) as Mrs. Sowerberry/Mrs. Bedwin.
The role of Oliver Twist is played by Isaac Hackett, James Miller, Thomas Newman and Jacob Sanders-Jones.
