Wicked release first pictures of Emma Hatton who takes on the role of Elphaba in the West End production of Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre from 2 February.
Emma Hatton moves up from Elphaba understudy in the current West End production from 2 February 2015. Emma’s previous theatre credits include understudy ‘Scaramouche’ and ‘Meatloaf’ in We Will Rock You (Dominion); ‘Donna’ in Dreamboats and Petticoats (Savoy, Playhouse and UK tour); ‘Twyla’ in When Midnight Strikes (Chelsea and Finborough Theatre); ‘Fairy Godmother’ in Cinderella (Harlequin Theatre) and Christmas in New York (Apollo).
From 2 February 2015, the London production stars Emma Hatton (Elphaba), Savannah Stevenson (Glinda), Jeremy Taylor (Fiyero), Liza Sadovy (Madame Morrible), Martyn Ellis (The Wizard), Philip Childs (Doctor Dillamond), Sam Lupton (Boq), Katie Rowley Jones (Nessarose), Natalie Andreou (Standby for Elphaba) and Sophie Linder-Lee (Standby for Glinda).
Based on the novel ‘Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West’ by Gregory Maguire it tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz. Wicked has music and lyrics by multi GRAMMY® and Academy Award® winner Stephen Schwartz, a book by Winnie Holzman, musical staging by Wayne Cilento and is directed by two-time Tony Award® winner and Olivier Award nominee Joe Mantello.
