John Goodman makes his West End debut in David Mamet’s explosive drama American Buffalo at the Wyndham’s Theatre, Directed by Daniel Evans.

John Goodman is a Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner and internationally renowned American actor. He attended Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University) on a football scholarship, where he studied drama with the likes of Hollywood stars Kathleen Turner and Tess Harper. He first came to prominence for his Golden Globe winning role of Dan Conner in Rosanne and subsequently became well-known for frequent collaborations with the Coen Brothers film’s.
John’s stage work includes: Pozzo in Waiting for Godot (Studio 54, New York), Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui (The Public Theatre, New York), A Christmas Carol (Kodak Theatre), Big River (Broadway)
His extensive television credits include Roseanne, Saturday Night Live, Aaron Sorkin’s The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Damages with Glen Close, Dancing on the Edge, Treme, and his current role in Alpha Dogs. He is also well-known for his voice work in Disney’s Monsters, Inc., The Emperor’s New Groove and The Princess and the Frog.
Goodman’s film work includes numerous collaborations with the Coen Brothers: Raising Arizona, Barton Fink, The Big Lebowski, O Brother Where Art Thou? and Inside Llewyn Davis. His most recent roles include Paramount’s remake of 1974’s The Gambler, Ben affleck’s Academy Award winning film Argo, the multi award winning The Artist and the Monuments Men.
