The RSC has announced full casting for its forthcoming production of Shakespeare’s Henry V, directed by RSC Co-Artistic Director Tamara Harvey.

Henry V is playing in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, from 14 March to 25 April 2026.

Already announced is Alfred Enoch (How to Get Away with Murder, Run Away) in the title role of Henry V. Enoch returns to the RSC after starring in Pericles, also directed by Tamara Harvey (The Constant Wife).

What to know: Incredibly, this new production of Henry V is the first time the play has been directed by a woman at the RSC. Tamara Harvey follows her well-received production of Pericles with Shakespeare’s most famous history play, once again teaming up with TV star Alfred Enoch in a production that promises to focus on the human price paid for Henry’s pursuit of power.

Henry V was one of the first Shakespeare plays that our Henry, Alfred Enoch, ever saw. It’s a play we both love so after working together on Pericles in 2024, it felt natural that we should tackle it in a space where so many great actors have played it, albeit never before at the RSC (astonishingly) with a woman director. The creative team of Henry V also includes Lucy Osborne (Set and Costume Designer), Ryan Day (Lighting Designer), Jamie Salisbury (Composer), Claire Windsor (Sound Designer), Annie-Lunnette Deakin-Foster (Movement Director), Kate Waters (Fight Director) and Christopher Worrall CDG (Casting Director).
