The Lowdown: The Book of Mormon has started confirming its new 2026 West End company. Leading the mission from 2 February 2026 will be Declan Egan as Elder Price and Regan-Bailey Walker as Nabulungi, taking over at the long-running show after it made West End history this month.
Confirmed so far are Declan Egan (Jersey Boys, Hairspray) as Elder Price, taking over from Blair Gibson; and Regan-Bailey Walker (The Sound of Music, Evita) is taking over the role of Nabulungi from Paige Peddie.
The current cast finishes on 31 January, with the new cast starting on 2 February 2026.
Still to be confirmed is Elder McKinley, currently played by Colin Burnicle; Elder Cunningham, currently played by Conner Peirson; Mafala Hatimbi, played by Ian Carlyle; General & Satan played by Matthew Elliot-Campbell; and Joseph Smith / Jesus / Price’s Dad & Mission President played by Ron Remke.
Winner of nine Tony Awards and four Olivier Awards, The Book of Mormon is co-directed by Trey Parker and Casey Nicholaw (Disney’s Hercules), who also choreographs.
Why ‘Mormon’ keeps on running
Producers of The Book of Mormon once again seem to be avoiding celebrity casting and maintaining this blockbuster shows’s success by casting high-energy, “triple-threat” musical theatre talent.
The show’s secret weapon is obviously the hilarious script, sharp satire, catchy songs by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, plus music co-written with Robert Lopez (Frozen, Avenue Q). It’s also how the quality of the show’s production values and talent have been maintained year after year in the lovely venue of the Prince of Wales Theatre.
Earlier this month, The Book of Mormon overtook We Will Rock You to become London’s 12th longest-running musical in West End history, and the 16th longest-running production overall (See the full line-up of the longest-running West End shows). Which means they are doing something right!
